About the Collection
The museum is proud of its collection of the Russian avant-garde. Her emergence of local activities, we must vhutemasovtsev is N.N.Popova and M.I.Stepanova, once received from Moscow as a major avant-garde works is K.A.Malevich, P.P.Konchalovsky, A.V.Lentulov, O . V. Rozanov, and Studi students VHUTEMAS'a Moscow. Of particular interest are the M.V.Le Dante, who died in his youth to create a companion M.V.Larionova Rayonism theory – "Lady in the cafe" (1917) and "Portrait of a Woman" (1910).
Central meeting place in the vanguard of Samara Art Museum occupy K.A.Malevich paintings circle. This, above all, the canvas of Malevich "Life in a big hotel" (1913-1914), which refers to the cubic futuristic period of his work. It should be noted that some researchers believe his work I.V.Klyuna. This conclusion is due to the unusual color of a picture monochromaticism that is unusual other works by Malevich, made in this period preceding Suprematism.
Cannot ignore the pattern M.I.Menkova is the artist that is included in the circle of the closest associates of Malevich. This "Tram number 6" (1914) and "Symphony" (Violin) (1915) where a time inherent radicalism dismembered into its component parts such specific "products of civilization," as the tram and violin.
Perhaps the most valuable part of the collection – paintings O.V.Rozanov. Largely close Malevich it developed its own way, who found adequately reflected in the works in our collection. Little work "Boulevard" (1911 – 1912) is literally staggering Battle of Kosovo with its sharp interpretation quite banal motive: a girl with a dog, walk on the boulevard.
"Still Life" (1913) with its persistent manipulation of illusory space and cubist vases strains at the same time addresses us to Matisse arabesques. Is truly a masterpiece of dynamic cubic futuristic "Urban Landscape" (1913), which is sketched in the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum. Creative evolution of the artist crowned pointless "flying an airplane" (1916) with his expressive blue, yellow, green and purple.
Pictorial art of A.A.Vesnin, future Constructivist architect who worked in the second half of 1910 – the beginning of the 1920s, in close contact with L.S.Popovoy, presented a characteristic of the artist "Planan Study" (1917). Another line in the figurative art of the time associated with the experiments with different materials and textures, is reflected in the works of Tolstoy-S.I.Dymshits ("Compass") and V.M.Strzheminskogo ("Counter").
P.P.Konchalovsky creativity, one of the most venerable artists "Jack of Diamonds", represented by several works, among which highlights the "Still Life" (1910). Unconditional attraction's website to Cezanne's painting method is combined with increased expression of color. Landscape "Cassis" (1913), despite its superior brilliance, traditional enough in terms of plastic, resembling a theatrical backdrop (we know different, more dynamic version of this motif, located in the Tula Art Museum).
"Landscape" A.V.Lentulov and other bright "bubnovovalettsa", to some extent, has the character of hoaxes is a banal motive urban backyards gets here ominously theatrical appearance. Accentuated with the game's space, which is three-dimensionally on the right side and as it fizzles in the left corner, intriguing the viewer with their metamorphosis.
Paintings "world citizen" D.D.Burlyuk indicate diverse influences: the picture "Oxen" (1907) bears traces "nabid-Fauvist" impact; landscapes painted near Ufa in 1917, reminiscent of the paintings of the "Union of Russian Artists." Characteristically, almost all the work in the museum come from the exhibition Burliuk in Samara held in 1917.
Ends the review meeting of the Russian avant-garde art museum Moscow artist S.Ya.Adlivankina appointed People's Commissariat authorized VHUTEMAS'a Samara, and one of the founders VHUTEMAS'a N.N.Popova from Samara, who worked until 1921, and later moved to Moscow. Paintings executed Adlivankin fervent spirit Battle of Kosovo ("Portrait of my parents;" self-portrait "Authorized Samara VHUTEMAS'a" both is 1922).
Original, not fully clarify the creative person is N.N.Popov who owns the "Portrait of a woman in a blue hat" (1922). The same impression is made and seemingly typical cubic futuristic drawings of the artist (see "Self-Portrait" and a series of drawings on everyday topics in 1920).
